2021 Colour Of The Year

2021 Colour Of The Year

The Pantone colour of the year as announced by Pantone Color Institute is PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Grey and PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating, two independent colours with different elements but can support one another. These colours express strength and positivity – perfect features for the world’s situation in 2021 and just what we need to feel that everything is going to get brighter.

Pantone’s Colour of the Year are frequently the backbone of product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including home furnishings and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design.

The colours have inspired our design experts with multiple designs for each living space as below.

Kitchen

Yellow is a soothing colour that makes people feel energized and happy. Physiologically, yellow stimulates appetite – just what we need in a kitchen! Besides making the room feel brighter and distinct, it pairs well with grey accents, the other Pantone colour of the year.

Bathroom

For small bathroom spaces, yellow adds a cheerful and playful vibe to a bathroom when used as pop colour. It works in bathrooms with or without natural light. When applied on walls or ceiling, yellow brings a little sunshine into your home. The Ultimate Grey when used as the base colour pairs well with the yellow and results in a sophisticated bathroom.

Living Room

Yellow has never really gone out of style in living rooms while grey is a popular neutral for any room in the house. Yellow is a vibrant, beautiful choice that brightens up any room and a good colour for entertaining guests. The secret is to find the perfect matching colours for the rest of the furnishings. Using smaller quantity of yellow accessories like flowers or pictures makes the room vibrant. Here, our designers have used yellow as the pop colour and grey as the base with tints of beige resulting in a glamorous look.

Reception Area

Grey as a neutral colour will often compliment other colours in a design for reception areas. It is not a particularly stimulating colour by itself but placed alongside with other bold colours, it creates depth in commercial spaces.

In this reception area, our designers have paired it with yellow as an accent on the furnishing, to trigger innovation, creativity and liveliness within the people at the reception area.
