Lately, Adrien Kent has been in a thrifting phase
Which involves buying things on Carousell and curating an eclectic style – mixing old and new, and finding ways to reuse pre-owned pieces. Adrien’s favourite way of getting his interior design inspirations is from movie sets. Even if it’s just an office scene in a series, the way set designers put the set together can be quite inspiring in the way they tell the story and sell the narrative. Ultimately, he describes his home as “layered, understated, and effortless”.
Here are his three tips to design a perfect home:

Lighting is Important
Never use overhead lighting! It looks harsh and nobody looks good. For Adrien, he likes mixing different lamps to form a triangle around the room, which makes everyone look good and younger with a nice glow, including yourself!
Have a Very Big Rug
Many homeowners use small rugs, but it ends up making your space look very busy. Ideally, you should get one that combines all the pieces in your space and brings them together like a mother hen.

Don’t Rush Your Interior Design
You don’t have to buy everything in one go! Take your time to hunt for different pieces, and build up your personal interior design layer upon layer. For Adrien, his design is always based on human needs, and even his own house has always changed according to his lifestyle.
